Heat Pumps

A heat pump could be a good idea if you’re already planning on replacing your current heating system and don’t yet own an air conditioner. For example, if you own a furnace, then you depend on a system of ducts to transport air through the home. A heat pump will use this same set of ducts, making the installation even easier.

In other cases, some homeowners may rely on a heat pump installation simply to consolidate their heating and cooling systems into one. Keep in mind, however, that this could mean ditching your natural gas heater and switching to electrical. If you’d like to keep your natural gas heating, however, you can still achieve this with a dual fuel heating system—a type of heat pump that can use gas heating as a backup.
